orange marker
 

hello y'all.. have not been here for a while, nor played Silent Hunter for a while, but got the itch back today. I see I do not have the orange marker in SH4, and I do not have a mod that shows it - was it ever in SH4? More to the point, can I get it to display in SH4, or is there a mod to bring it back?

The file you are looking for should be in (which ever hard drive you installed it to)
Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Misc\UMark.dds
Are you using any mods that change this file? if you are uninstall the mod and delete the UMark.dds file.

Clarification necessary. If you are using a mod that changes the UMark, then uninstall the mod like Moonlight says. Then use Windows Explorer to navigate to your \Wolves of the Pacific\MODS directory. Then find your mod folder, let's call it TMO. In the MODS directory go to \MODS\TMO\Data\Misc\ and find UMark.dds. If it is there, then delete it.

Now you can reinstall your mods and you'll have the UMark.

only using TMO, plus patch and 'stop the shouting'. I do have the 'hide marker' mod, but that not installed. I shall look for the file you mentioned - thank you :)

Yes, TMO removes the marker so that's where you'll find it. When I get ambitious I'm going to make a mod to turn TMO into TMOwTw (TMO with training wheels), which reinstalls the stock plotting system, slightly downgrades Superman aboard all enemy vessels and restores the UMark. I am shopping for ambition right now. Please wait......
