Only thing of note regarding Russia in the UK news lately is the debate on whether they are going to be banned from world athletics for drugs cheating.

This was leaked by TV dudes yesterday, they have filmed one of the generals opening presentation on the conference between the MoD, MIC and Putin.

The slide of presentation depics the UUV system, as well as some of it's parameters.

Carrier subs are:
- pr.09852 (Oscar refit), with 4 carried.
- pr.09851 (sub under construction, this is a second official depiction of the thing I think after some memorial ball pens).

Stats of the UUV:
- dive depth up to 1000m.
- range up to 10000km.
- speed up to -tripple digit number in km/h- (I think 125-185km/h).

This specific model of UUV is tasked with:
- destruction of the enemy instalations and infrastructure in the coastal regions and delivering guaranteed unacceptable dammage to the adversary via creation of large areas of radioactive contamination, which would preclude military and economic activities for a prolonged period of time in that region.

That said - the UUV research and the 09852/09851 UUV carriers are not new news. So you shouldn't be suprised when it is leaked.

The nuclear dimention however, in my opinion, is a threat/ruse and that topic is well discussed on that nuclear stuff blog.
