How to add ambient sound for objects?
G'day guys,
Just a quick question - where are the ambient sound files for objects located in the DW file structure? With a bit of playing with DW Edit, and the SC Sound Editor, I've managed to add a dolphin sound to the RA Dolphin model - sounds great in BB. But how can I get the same sound to be the dolphin's "ambient" sound, i.e., to be able to hear it in 3d view? For example, the whale has the ambient sound of "WhaleLow" (no.wav) - where is that sound file located? Thanks guys Stew:ping: |
Ambient sounds should be at audio\sfx\sfx.agg
In the DWEdit\Object it should be specified at the ambient sound field without both the prefix "a_" and the suffix ".wav". have fun... |
Thanks Pirate for your help - that worked a treat! Gee, this is a great forum! :ping:

Hi guys - just another question - it's not possible to add ambient sound to land-based objects is it?
I tried to add machinery noises to the oil rig and it didn't seem to work... Thanks! |
Unfortunately no. Ambient sounds do not work on static objects.
You have to make them surf and float or ship for ambient sound to play. But that comes with some other probs... |
Thanks Pirate for that info and your help. I really appreciate it!
