I came across these videos from Youtube and I thought they might be of interest.

He's 91-years-old and was last in a Spitfire when it came down behind enemy lines during the Second World War. Jimmy Taylor flew with 16 Squadron as a strategic reconnissance pilot but in 1944 he was captured by the Gestapo. 69-years later and he's been at Goodwood aerodrome in West Sussex to fly a Spitfire once again.

The Supermarine Spitfire is such an Iconic aircraft and it's not only always great to see them flying but to see original Spitfire pilot Jimmy Taylor take to the skies again at the age of 91 is a treat.

It certainly is nice to see the old war birds running again. If it wasn't for the kids that flew them I don't think I would be here if Germany had won the war.

While i like the Spitfire, and am thankful for the Allies to have stopped this dictator, who knows what would have happened in another time line.
Hitler did NOT want to conquer the world, or even England for that matter. He wanted a big part of Russia, right from the beginning.
For all the reasons there may have been, England declared war to Germany, not the other way round. Hitler then failed in forcing England to a truce, and it backfired.

And it was foremost the Hurricane and its pilots who stopped the geman bombers, at that time there were not so many Spitfires around.
