Type IIa to IIb

Helo everyone. I read much info about all types of "II's" and i wonder, that it is unfair, that Bdu gave us an old, rusty, Type II (Witch was only 6 built) instead of new shiny upgraded cool Type IIb (That was 20 built).

I know how to change parametrs of the boats with Silent 3ditor, but i dont know how to rename Type IIA IN ALL INGAME CONTENT including description of boat, - to a Type IIB (Because they obviously looks similar in game :88)) without conflicts. What files do i need to modify, for that, in dock and sea, or in crew menu, i would saw Boat Type-IIb instead of Boat Type-IIa??? Because to change parametrs of a boat to a new, historical, is easy. I want simply change the letter "A" to "B"

P.S. i am using a "Russian interface for GWX 3.0" (I downloaded this mod somewhere) it modifies all ENGLISH text of menu, equipment, boats descriptions etc to RUSSIAN, for example : I've got Russian text in "NSS_Uboat2A_en" and u need to notice that, if you'll give me technical advices.

Pls dont offer a mods, i want to do all changes manually. Thank you. :03:

I am sorry, i found what i need

in Data\Submarine\EnglishNames.cfg

But i have got another question - in game we can chose two types of battaries for a Type II - Standard "AFA 36 mak 580" 7160 AH and Improved "AFA 44 MAL 570" 8380 AH

So Type IIa, historically, can go 35nm with 4 knots submerged without any upgrades. Thats clear.

But Type IIb, historically, go 43nm with 4 knots submerged. Its because of THOSE IMPROVED battaries? or its "standard" and can be upgraded with AFA 44 MAL 570????

That's interesting http://uboat.net/technical/batteries.htm Hmmmmm :hmm2:

Am i correct that Type II B can do 43nm on 4knots, because of NEW economic electric engines, not batteries?! :o OR WHAT???!!

And the last question Type 2B goes 3100nm with cruising on 8 knots. What distance it will go on 12 knots? Beacuse all in game are in distance\12knots. 2066 nm ???? am i right?

Well i made a huge research about all Type 2 U-Boats

And made some serious decisions

First: our ingame Type IIa is TypeIIC (!!!!!!) or, maybe deep modification of type IIa.

Because Original Type IIA & B Didn't have the second PERI!!! And the radio interception antenna were installed in the center of turm only on C & D modifications.

Prooflink: http://www.uboataces.com/uboat-type-ii.shtml

So i start to full rework on Type IIa in the game, for adding all TypeII C params instead of original.

BTW i finnaly found ranges at 12 knots instead of 8.

With all that info, i decide to make my own Half-Hybrid boat Type IIb instead of Type IIa and give all realistic params to all II boats include D

Ibased on this information: http://www.uboataces.com/uboat-type-ii.shtml

Well, i saw many types of turms on Type II boats photos, so i decided to
make my own "Modified Type 2B Turm" with comander peri and new positions of UZO and Pelengation Antenna (Only text changes in Data\Menu\Menu_en)

I took info and photos from here: http://www.u-boote.ru/boats/ii.html

As you can see almost all boats, whatever of types, has his own unique turms

I called my new turm "Type IIB/2" hope that its not that with wintergarden. :03:

BTW cath some new interesting AA turm model for IIB

Does anyone know what is "H" and "A" ?

It's a model. Those, as well as 'B', 'C' and 'D' in the first picture, are painting guides. Another page of the instructions will tell what the colors are. As seen in the painting earlier 'H' and 'A' are red and white.

Thank you Sailor Steve, but I already knew that ... I didn't know that it was an emergency door. Thx Padi.
