Recovery of a 350 year-old gun carriage and associated artefacts from the "London" of Pepys time (rediscovered in 2005 off Southend) is to be attempted tomorrow.

I'm wondering if the ship is recoverable or just artifacts. If 300 men were killed on the London, probably better to leave it undisturbed.

A post on The Kent History Forum dated August 14 says that a gun carriage (made of elm) has been successfully raised along with all the gunners' tools that go with it.
