Any ideas why I can not get Filezilla to work this time? Their help section did not help at all.
Tried this version, FileZilla 3.12.0 RC1.exe, because it has a new features talking about directories. "# New features: - FileZilla no longer visually enters each visited directory during recursive operations, e.g. when downloading or deleting remote directories. During recursive operations the server's directory structure can now be navigated as if idle - Ask for confirmation if trying to load Site Manager data originating from a future version of FileZilla - Display location of settings directory on the About dialog" I tried the old version, FileZilla_3.11.0.2.exe recently, before Neal gave me a new password. I used FileZilla 3.6.0.2 in Feb 2013 for the first time ever in my life and had no problem then. I erased that old version since then. Here is the error: Status: Resolving address of ftp.subsim.com Status: Connecting to 199.19.78.115:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Status: Initializing TLS... Status: Verifying certificate... Status: TLS connection established. Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing... Command: PWD Response: 257 "/" is your current location Command: TYPE I Response: 200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary Command: PASV Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (199,19,78,115,64,211) Command: MLSD Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing My directory listing is pointed to a folder on my hard drive. Not my zonealarm firewall since I disabled it, too. Still did not work. Attachment 1529 |
What a hassle Filezilla was the last few weeks for me. Please read the previous posts if interested in other details about Filezilla I wrote about.
I spent hours of research trying to get this file upload working again. Others suggested if it wasn't a firewall issue that it could be the more current versions. The latest internet research I found to work for FileZilla was FileZilla 3.9.0.6.exe. FileZilla 3.9.0.6.exe worked flawlessly for the subsim upload. Go to http://filehippo.com/ for filezilla for this version if needed. All the internet research suggested for me to use the following ideas to fix FileZilla versions 3.12 or newer. a) Use SFTP instead of FTP but I did not ask Neal Stevens if this is plausable. b) Try changing the transfer connection from active to passive etc. c) Open up Filezilla, then file, then site manager and enter the ftp.subsim information. Then change the encryption stuff under the general tab. 1) Use explicit FTP over TLS if available 2) Require explicit FTP over TLS 3) Require implicit FTP over TLS 4) Only use plain FTP (insecure) All of these suggestions failed, too. |
The Captain Midnights MORE CBS NEWS! MOD v1.2 download link is fixed again.
