James Horner, composer, missing, feared dead
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2...horner-crashes
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Horner I hope that he isn't the body on board, but I fear that he is. If so then it will be a great loss for the film industry, for he wrote some fantastic scores. Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan - Battle in the Mutara Nebula is probably my favourite of his: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KilBvojsMdw Although the suspenseful music when the Titanic hits the iceberg in the film 'Titanic' 'Hard to Starboard' was also excellent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CRlDxwY_VU |

Damn, I was just watching the first clash between the Enterprise and the Reliant in Wrath of Khan. His music made that scene epic.
The film industry has lost one of it's best. |
Tragic, I'd put him up there with Hans Zimmer.
|
Oh no :06:
|
He also did the fantastic score for Aliens.
RIP. |
And Baveheart, which still gives me goose bumps.
Very sad news indeed. |
James Horner
Not only did he do the scores for Braveheart, star trek and the haunting melody of Titanic and so many, many others, he wrote the score for the Brad Pitt film, " Legends of the fall " There is a great piano piece simply titled in Legends of the fall " the Ludlows " which is fantastic. James Horner had the ability to capture the essence of any movie with his musical scores.
We also lost another great talent a few years ago with regards to musical scores and compositions. This loss is none other than John Barry. He collaborated a good deal with a great pianist Roger Williams who also sadly is no longer with us. They were collectively irreplaceable talents who will be sorely missed. Rest in peace |
*Cue Mournful music*
Ahem.... *cue mournful music* I said *cue mournful music*! What? Oh..... Would somebody else please write some mournful music? RIP. An artisan surely. |
