sh4.exe - Entry point not found
As soon as I click on sh4.exe I get this come up.
sh4.exe - Entry point not found The procedure entry point ?TokenizeAndReturnCollactionDeletable@String@@SA?A V$DynamicVector@PAD@@QBD_NIPAD1@Z could not be locatedin the dynamic link library FileManager.dll Note I have windows 7 and all drivers are upto date. Windows 7 upgrade advisor says this game is compatible with windows 7. I have also got patch 1.4 instilled. I hope I am posting this in right place. |
I have had that happened to me before.
Do you have Patch 1.5 installed? Try installing this patch again. Disable all mods before, and reenable them again later. |
Don't have 1.5 patch and I understand I have to pay for it. I won't pay for a patch.
|
It isn't a patch, it's the u-boat missions add-on.
Did you install SH4 as an admin and make sure you put it in ANY file path besides the default Program Files (x86) directory? |
welcome aboard!

Welcome to SubSim Dragon :sunny:

Thank you for the welcome.
Do any one have a ideal where I can get the u-boat missions add-on or its full name ? |
U-Boat Missions is the 1.5 patch, and paying is the only way to get it. On the other hand it adds a lot to the game, including the U-boats of course. Most of the newer mods are based on 1.5, so you really need it to get the most out of the game.

yep talking about paying for it. shop.ubi.com got it for £6.99. I want to see if it's cheaper else where 1st.

Ahoy Commanders, I'd like to hear from some specialist about my occurence of the same error. But before, a bit of history.
I'm still running with Windows XP Pro and I'm happy with this up to now (sooner or later I'll have to upgrade though ...). After my last problem with the hard disk I made a complete and clean reinstall of XP with all its upgrades from Microsoft and finally set up all my applications which are running smoothly. Lately, beside my install of IL2 1946 with my favourite mod (HSFX 7.0.3) that I use for flying in Hyperlobby, I wanted to reinstall my SH4 setup which, before the crash of the hard disk, was made up by a stock game patched up to 1.4, with the addition of TMO mod v. 1.7.6 I believe; in any case it was the latest version for SH4 1.4. Now what's happening is that the stock game install (v. 1.0) runs OK but as soon as I patch to v. 1.1 and up to 1.3 I have the bloody "entry point not found" and the referred module is the SimData.dll; when I patch to SH4 v. 1.4 I have the same error but the referred module is FileManager.dll. These errors are systematic. I performed several time an installation/disintallation, but these errors are always the same. Now I can't figure out what's happening. The OS is the same I had before ... what could have gone wrong?? Any ideas? I even try the same installation (SH4 stock + patches) on a laptop thinking that, since I use an external audio interface (MAudio 410 FireWire), maybe, for some reason, there are incompatible audio drivers, but on the laptop the resulting errors were identical! Just for completeness I tried both patching from 1.0, 1.1 up to 1.4 and only patching from 1.0 to 1.4 directly, since I read that patch 1.4 is cumulative (am I correct?),but the final results are identical: once 1.4 has been installed the module referred by the err. message is FileManager.dll ... I LOVE this game and I would be somehow upset if I cannot setup it again with my old configuration. Forgive this long post but I AM REALLY FRUSTRATED ... Cheers to all |
Welcome back
captain flounder! :salute: after a very long silent run!
|
Yes Sir, sorry for my long silent service ... real life issue :haha:
|
Ahoy Captains
after some time spent thinking (without success ...) I have one question left. Is it possible that there are 2 different Patch1.4, one for the game downloaded from whichever online vendor AND one for the DVD game?? I saw recently that a similar case applied for Silent Hunter 3. Cheers Rick |
