well so any way its the year 2015 wanted to play some silent hunter bought digital download off gamestop for 9 dollars patched to 1.2 any way i downloaded gsgme put it in my root folder i think everythings correct i watched a vid on how to do it my question is how do i know what mods are compatible this is what i got goin on as of now

Just use TWoS and follow those directions. It's fantastic, quick, and easy.

Excuse my ignorance what is that? im on windows 8 as well

Any questions you eventually have are probably covered in that thread. There are also tons of FAQs sprinkled around the forums for using programs like JGME, TDWoptionsviewer/migrater, and TDWGenericPatcher.

mobucks is spot on, TWOS is the way to go in SH5.

TWOS is a complete package nothing else is required.

Anything else you may want to know as a newcomer to SH5 is in my tutorials'
