TV Show Favourites
Who are your favourite TV show characters and why? I always loved to see actor Maurice Gosfield amble on as Private Dwayne Doberman in "Sergeant Bilko". Doberman was written into the script as "the most woebegone soldier", and his expressions of innocent unquestioning trust were a delight.
Gosfield apparently also tried out unsuccessfully for the role of Uncle Fester in "The Addams Family". http://i.imgur.com/TN3sDhI.jpg |
For me it'll always be Captain Kirk. Maybe it is because Shatner was such an overdone ham of a performer always offering an assortment of impossibly intense, emotive performances, often ... including! oddly placed ... emphasis and ... pauses!

Red Green (Red Green show)
Ron Swanson (Parks and rec) James Gordon (any Batman serie/movie) Scotty and ''Bones' Mccoy (Star trek) No particular reason. I can relate to them and feel my life would improve if I adopted a bit of their personalities. Red and Ron are a bit off but so am I. |
For me it would be William Schallert and Susan Oliver. Mostly because if you watched any TV series in the 60's-80's you saw them.
A shorter list might be a list of TV shows they did not appear on at least once. |
I'm asking for TV show characters, rather than the actors who played them:)

I'm a fan of Abed, from Community. He is just so out there and eccentric (but also awkward and withdrawn) in a way that many people, myself included, can relate to.
