Questions about Modlist

Kaleunen,

I have finally purchased Silent Hunter III, and I am eagerly trying to figure out the best mod-list. The problem is, however, I'm not sure which mods to use.

One of the bigger questions is which mod is better: "Grey Wolves", or "Living Silent Hunter"? They both seem to cover the same territory when it comes to "major conversions to SHIII", but I don't know which one would be better, and which is more stable.

Furthermore, there comes the question of auxiliary mods like Flakmonkey's "NewInteriors", HanSolo78's "War Ace Campaign", RudeWarrior's "Just Follow Orders", and the like.

So the question I pose to you is "what mods do you use? Which do you recommend for an eager first-time U-Boat Kaleun?"

Play a couple of games with vanilla, then GWX and SH3Commander for a career or two, then start experimenting. My computer can't run LSH, so I don't know anything about that one.

It's all about experimentation. Some mods are great, some are not so. Combos will greatly improve or destroy your game play. The supermods like GWX or NYGM are completely ambiguous as far as which is better. GWX is better immersion, NYGM adds realism, LSH is great if you like detailed harbours. For me I love GWX but it crashes too much. I use NYGM, which is way more stable, and I use the right mods where it is damn near GWX sound, and feel. You have to be willing to start over careers and do reinstalls over a period of TIme to figure it all out. Good luck.
