Invisible submarines bug
Hello all.
I've been getting into DW again, after using Komat's .dll wrapper to get the game running. Unfortunately, I tried to install LWAMI 3.11 and ended up with invisible submarines and a CTD when trying to load the Akula. Here lies the problem: I deleted all the mod folders, completely uninstalled Dangerous Waters, reinstalled from disc, patched to 1.04 and added wrapper, and the bug still remains! I don't know how it's managed to effect a clean install. Anybody have this issue? |
welcome aboard!

I didn't have exactly the issue you described (I never play Akula) but I did have quite a few invisible ships. (Most noticeable in the exit sequence, wakes with no ships to make them.)
I didn't run InstallStuff.bat in LwAmi_Mod\FileTools as part of my install. I think it decompresses a lot of the files because I now have ships to fill all the holes in the water. If you didn't run it either, disable in JSGME, run InstallStuff.bat, then re-enable with JSGME. If you did already or this doesn't work then hopefully someone will come along with a better idea. Thanks all.
I managed to solve the problem. There were some hidden files associated with LWAMI that I found doing a system-wide file search. After deleting them, stock DW behaved fine. |
