Widescreen MaGui (Stand Alone) and the Speed Tables
Hello,
I'm a little ashemed to open a topic just for such a small question but I recently installed Widescreen MaGui and I'm not able to find the Speed Tables as I was in "normal" (1024x768) MaGui while on the Nav Map. Where are the tables? I know they are there because i found the corresponding .tga file in my installetion, here: C:\...\Silent Hunter 3\data\Menu\OLC\SpeedTable.tga This is my current mod soup: Quote:

According to this:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=197050 you don't need O2 gauges, and that mod might be in conflict with your setup? |

Btw, it is a very small mod, we are speaking about just 2 .tga images, noting more. I'm quite confident it doesn't correlate with the issue in the OP, but thank you for your help sublynx, I appreciate it! |
2 tga's and no changes to menu_1024_768.ini? Then that mod really can't be the problem. It does sound like a menu conflict problem but I have no other idea what could cause it...

The problem was found, as many times happens, between the chair and the pc... :har: What a n00b I am... The fact is that Widescreen MaGUI works with a 1360x768 resolution. Now, how do you make the Speed Tables pull out? You go in the NavMap screen and you slam the mouse to the right side of it. That works fine in a 1360x768 monitor screen, but mine is 1366x768 and that means that if I slam the mouse to the right the mouse pointer will fall on the 1366th pixel, not on th 1360th as needed... So I just need to make the mouse pointer fall over the correct pixel column (a bit tedious but not a problem) and the tables will pull out, issue solved! Mmm... maybe I can search in menu_1024_768.ini for the entry about the Speed Charts and edit the relevant coordinates for the pull out action... :hmmm: And maybe also enlarge the .tga background image of the NavMap screen... Mmm... if I find the time for it I could enlarge all the background .tga files used and make a little (personal) mod to install on top of the WS-MaGui for correct some minor cosmetic issues you got when you use it with a 1366 pixel screen... |
I should have thought about that as well, as I'm a 1366x768 user myself. My speed tables are draggable ones but I have exactly the same problem with some charts I've made myself.
Good to hear thar you sorted the thing out by yourself! |
OK chaps help me out here.
I'm using a 16:10 monitor@1920x1200 so what res do I need 1366x768? Or would I be better just getting a new 16:9 monitor and run at 1920x1080? I'd like to use a WS gui but atm I think I'm stuck with the old resfix mod. Best regards. Fubar2Niner |
Have you tried just keeping the monitor at 1920x1200 and running a GUI with 1920x1080?
I would think it might be possible for you just to run for example Ahnenerbe GUI, and accept the black strip at the top or bottom of your screen. |

To be honest mate I haven't but the proposed upgrade is kind of two fold, my present monitor is 24" and I'm looking to go 27 or maybe 30+, price depending. I have started a thread here; http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=219817 regarding the merits of flat vs curved screens if you have any opinions/experience mate. Best regards. 1366x768 corrections for Widescreen MaGui
I've just created a personal, jsgme-ready, mini-mod "1366x768 corrections for Widescreen MaGui v4.3" to stack on top of Widescreen MaGui (to be activated just after all the Widescreen MaGui mods)
What it does (for now): Quote:
