Young Buna....he be at it again!!

Unbeknown to his mom and I, young Buna scored so highly in his Chief Officers Exam at the end of last year, he was accepted for some sort of Expert Mariners Panel (apparently consisting of twenty people across the UK).

I can't go into any more detail because he hasn't made much reference to it in our conversations but what I do know is the fact that tomorrow he has been invited to visit the UK Hydrographic Office for a two day visit/tour and amongst other artifacts he will get to see in their archives will be the original manuscripts and early charts by Captain James Cook and Captain William Bligh.

Fair winds and following seas bonny lad :salute:

Cook & Bligh? This must be when they teach prospective officers how to deal with unruly natives and mutineers. :D

Good luck Young Buna!

The bugga is here now asking to borrow my SatNav :hmmm:

Strange how someone can safely navigate a vessel approaching 100,000 tons with a few thousand folk onboard around some of the worlds most hazardous places/harbours yet can't navigate a car 200+ miles without his fathers help

Give him a map and compass, and a clock - tell him it's his final test.

James just read the thread and sends his appreciation....he reckons I've some good friends on here :know:

Edit: He's just rang to say he is home but has left his house key at ours :)

"Was that Full Ahead or Full Astern Captain"? :har:
