Night photos
Hi all,
Just got back from Osaka after making the photo recon run. (It's a very dangerous mission, BTW.) I was able to sneak up on the point of attack at night and was able to lock onto three targets to photo... so I did at 4 am in the morning. It was still pitch black top side with a crescent moon sinking into the horizon. Point being, I successfully completed this mission at night/dark. I have read all around these forums that it must be day time to take pictures. Does RFB allow night time photo shoots? Cuz I just did one successfully. :D RFB 2 RFB 2 Patch :) |
I don't know. I also never do those, because I've found that the photo-recon missions are nothing like the real ones.
Sorry I'm not more help, but the more I learn about the game's "missions" the more frustrated I become. Still, it's cool that you found you can do it after dark. :sunny: |
I also discovered that you don't have to be submerged. Just raise up the scope and take your pictures looking through it.

I've done that mission in night also. For me the worst mission was the insertion of an agent on the coast of Japan. Like the poor dude have any chances. Going near the coast in very shallow waters at night was a nightmare and i'm pretty sure he was caught in the morning.

'satiable curtiousity, Salior Steve - you ever try hacking the DynamicMiss.cfg file to eliminate photo missions from campaigns? I tried removing
[Section 80] FileName=data/Campaigns/Campaign/EastAsiaCampaign.mis etc etc etc from the campaign.cfg file once (to get rid of them screwy task forces with the tiny troopships) but the one time I tried it the game crashed. |
I try to do every mission that comes my way. I time my photo recons to be at night. By far the hardest recon photo mission to me was Hiroshima. Figured that would be an important one. By the time I got away I had 83% damage. Funny I know its a game but I remember that one!

You do not have to be surfaced for photos.
It does not have to be day light outside for photos but it will help in reducing your need to get in closer. |
