Fuel !

I'm very new at RFB, my first patrol out of Pearl Harbor send me patrolling in Honshu south of Japan. How am i supposed to get there... not enough fuel ! Even if i ran half the time on battery, i dont think i can make it there and back, not even patrolling. What am i doing wrong ?

Fuel management is an important part of the RFB and TMO mods, you need to put into Midway en route and top off the tanks. In reality, this is what was done to make it all the way across the Pacific. Also run at 8-10kts to conserve fuel.

And at that speed, also be prepared for about a two week journey to Japanese waters. Welcome to the planet's biggest ocean.

Patience is the word ...

At 10 knots, you'll use about 1/4 or 25% of a tank in a Porpoise sub.
That's what I'm getting anyway...

:)

I'm a recent returnee to the SH series, and so far am enjoying the RFB mod in SH4. I was shocked to find out how much fuel I used just getting to the patrol zone, then I tried getting there at 11knots. Longer transit times but much better fuel economy. (hehe I guess I need to read the instructions on the packet!:))

Yep finish the time of getting to the zone at flank speed all the way !

You should try patrolling in a S-boat. :)

Recharging batteries consumes fuel. Don't use them more than necessary.
