I usually don't post in these threads as I can't think of anything appropriate to say. I have to post now. I've been a big fan of Geoffrey Lewis for as long as I can remember. I like an actor who can be the second banana, not steal the show but still make his presence felt. When he appeared on the screen or when I saw his name in the opening credits my first thought was invariably "Oh cool!"
I think my favorite all-time role of his was in Rough Riders, with Tom Berenger, Sam Elliott, Gary Busey and more. In a film full of good actors giving some of their best performances, and being handed a number of good lines, Lewis had my favorite. While Theodore Roosevelt's men are talking about what they want to do when they get back home, Geoffrey Lewis's character says "First, I'm gonna buy me a huge steak. Then I'm gonna find me a whore - one who's so good at what she does she'll make me think she loves me!"
I'm gonna miss him.
