Sun Eclipse over Europe

For a few more minutes you can watch it in a live stream here: http://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/nieder...ternis148.html

Strange looking outside with the sun shining from clear blue skies, but the light it casts is so much dimmer than normally.

I happened to mention this event in the "what are you doing" thread a little earlier this morning: we've just been watching the image safely, as recommended. Quite interesting, for a few minutes.

It was more fun to speculate upon how the various life-forms known collectively as "people" up and down the land have been burning out their retinal tissue with other observational techniques. I wouldn't dare mention any of them here because some of them can read, might see it, and think I'm serious.

:hmmm:
Shouldn't this event signal some kind of purge over that side of the pond?
Like burn squirrels on the stake or something?
:haha:

BossMark 03-20-15 06:05 AM

Too bloody cloudy here in Leeds to see sod all :nope:

Burn the squirrels anyway.
:yep:
Just incase.

:har: Just don't ever tell that guy who knocks down walls for you there's going to be an eclipse. He will come back with black holes where his eyes used to be.

I'm pretty sure if I mention 'eclipse'?
I'll be seeing a blank look.

But you won't see them again. ;)
Next one will be in 2081.

No problem for jim he's a Highlander as long as he keeps his head.

Here's my photo of it. I was inside an office with tinted windows, and it was cloudy enough to see without spending the rest of the day going 'ow, my eyes, my eyes'.

Funny, they said here that the next will be in 2026.
Well I only saw the final, at 9:00 the sun was to low for me to see it from my home, do to the neighbour building.
About the eyes, I used a developed piece of film, b&w or slide, the header is always full black and dense, so one can see the sun with out danger.

Like Steed and BossMark saw bugger all here, it got dark, then it got light again. Was just the big man hitting the dimmer switch I'll bet :sunny:
