Lock up and ctd when clicking on graphics settings...
 

Greetings submariners !

Hoping someone can assist me before I rip my hair out !

I have SH4 Gold , and while I did get it to install , it does not detect my native screen resolution of 1920x1080 . Unless I set my desktop res to 1024x768 , SH4 opens in a small window about 1/4 the size of my screen . Then , if I attempt to use the graphic settings in options , the program locks up and eventually ctd s . I've tried a manual edit of the CFG file , re installation (following a guide on these forums) Google , and copious use of profanity . All to no avail ! :/\\!!

A few years back , I had SH4 running rather well on this same machine . What could I be missing ? Here's my specs :

Win XP64
AMD 955 BE @ 3.2
4 gigs DDR 3
Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 1 gig DDR 3
Coby 15 inch flat screen

Any ideas or suggestions ?

In examining the main CFG again , I noticed that the version was listed as 1.0 . I changed it to 1.5 . Then I put my screen res to 1920x1080 and fired up the sim . It loaded up full screen unlike before . I still get a crash if I click on the graphics setting , but , at least I've made some progress .

Off to give the IJN some grief ! :arrgh!:

A 15 inch screen running 1920x1080 sounds completely awful.

The best resolution for a 15 inch is 800x600.

At it's highest your manual says your monitors native setting is 1280X800
