Cape Town burns

One of the worst fires in many years has hit beautiful Cape Town. Fire fighters have been called in from all over the country to help as the fires rage across the Cape Town south peninsula. Fire fighters recon it is going to take days to kill.

Unfortunatly, I know that scenario twice! I hope for the best and that there is no causalities.

Sorry to hear it. It's strange how a tragedy like this can breed such beautiful pictures.

Wild fires are difficult when they get big. Good luck and prayers for those who live there and my brothers and sisters fighting the fire.

Yesterday was the hottest day in Cape Town's recorded history placing it also as the hottest city on the planet for that day at 42 degrees celsius.

Fires still alive but thank goodness this on the wires today:

CAPE TOWN – Some relief is expected for firefighters battling a four-day blaze around Table Mountain in Cape Town, with rain and cool weather forecast throughout the day.

Sad.

:haha: Our whales are not due in until May/June. But what I can say is that there is some VERY DISTURBING news that these fires could be politically motivated.

The Western Province is the only province/state/region that the ruling central ANC party do not control - much to their chagrin.

What gives rise to the suspicions is that fires are breaking out all over. Cape Point is now recording fires and even over the mountain we are now having sudden outbreaks.
