Stock SH3- any reason to enter the Black Sea?
The museum shows Romanian units, so is there anything going on in the Black Sea? Can I take a Type VII from Salamis through the Turkish Straits?

Hi Karl, welcome to subsim :salute:
To be honest I have no idea what's going on in the Black Sea. But I can't help notice you said stock... do you know about the super mods? GWX for example, is a free simple download and install and improves the game tenfold! Highly recommended. Just mentioning it to you in case you didn't know. |
My reason is because I grew up on the Black Sea coast. But in my NYGM installation, nothing is happen there.
GWX3 have Black Sea campaign, and for GWX3 have this: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=172997 |

I remember someone wrote that the Black Sea campaign is boring. Basically the same type of small convoy of a few ships intercepted time after time at the same location.

Hi mate,
in real life there were only Type 2 U-Boats in the black sea in WW2. I think there were only 6 of them, which the germans had transported there in parts by train. :yep: Maybe that helps you make your decision. I do not know though, how it is modelled in stock game, or the modded campaigns/missions by GWX. |
THERE WERE 3 ,ROMANIAN MADE SUBS. AFTER ITALY ****ED UP ANOTHER 6 ITALIAN MADE SUBS TRANSFERED TO ROMANIAN NAVY.

welcome aboard!

GWX works with steam edition. That's what I run. I have done the Black Sea campaign, but spent weeks in game just trying to find a single merchant. May have been a glitch, but never found anything out there after an in game month of patrolling. I did use my 20mm deck gun to "attack" a port.
