MS-DOS zombying...
https://archive.org/details/software...msdos_games/v2
2400 MSDOS games on this site are offered legally. They use an in-browser version of Dos-Box. You must install nothing, just click to start. I am aware of the legal status of abandonware and Neal'S stand on it, and that abandonware does not mean automatically that it is legal to download something, it only means that the former holder of rights does not care to enforce his rights anymore. But this company offers to play in the browser, and in this German article in a major newspaper gives me the strong impression that it all is legal: http://www.welt.de/wirtschaft/webwel...erfuegbar.html If it were not legal, that would be as surprising as for example the Times advertising in a major article some pirated software. Unlikely. It looks all okay to me. |

Darn, doesn't work for me. After clicking "click to begin" it loads shortly then turns and stays black...
But... this page is awesome. It is like someone threw my childhood right into my face :D |

Great site, not just games but texts, audiobooks and videos (information ones, not movies). :yeah:
|
It's got captures of websites too, including Onkel Neal's finest.
https://web.archive.org/web/20000817...ww.subsim.com/ All links clickable and working, at least within the site! |
It made it into Washington Post today as well, so if it's "clean" enough for them, it's certainly legit for Subsim posting! :D
I've been a supporter of Archive for the better part of a decade. There is a lot of fantastic stuff to be found there - from old radio archives to uploads of artist-sanctioned bootlegs of concerts to, of course, the wayback machine. The games collection is just another great addition to what's already one of the finest sites on the internet :yep: |

Good find, Sky. :) Abandonware rules here were modified a few years ago, ...mainly we want to be sure someone doesn't start claiming Game X is abandonware a year after release, while it is still commercially available. |
Been playing Prince of Persia, so many hours spend trying to jump the titles and doors!
Stunt: loved that game, trying to get the loops with out falling. Emmanuelle:huh: didn't know that there was a game!!! |
