Next time, do your stupid stunt on a minefield.

As Greenpeace were knocking themselves out logistically to emplace this thing, didn't the thought cross somebody's mind?-- "Hey. Let's just use Photoshop."

Myeah, it ended up looking fake, so no one would have known the difference. :O:

PS. Been meaning to ask for a while: Are you at JREF forums, or International Skeptics or whatever it's called now, as well?

Oberon 12-19-14 11:06 AM

I really wish they would stop doing things like that, it really doesn't help bring any good publicity to the cause. :nope: It's like PETA, sure treating animals ethically is a good thing...but you're pushing people away by being idiots! :/\\!!

Still, goes to show, all causes have their extremists, be it religion or ideology. :dead:

I think I missed something.

Then again, I plant trees, recycle, make compost out of kitchen waste and have a green thumb, I really cannot afford to be associated with this rabble

1. What is oba-?
2. What is this a picture of?
3. Why are you upset about it?

A little information might be helpful.

In short Greenpeace went goose-stepping (or short of) to Nazca lines and caused a mess...

EDIT: I post too slowly...

Dowly 12-19-14 12:40 PM

@Platapus: Sorry, it's been around the news here and there. Thought everyone had heard about it by now. I shall leave links next time I post something. :salute:

As for Oba-: just a jab at the "meme" 'Thanks Obama', basically, trying to be funny.

And the entire nation of Peru...

vanjast 12-19-14 03:40 PM

The bird (AFAIK) is supposed to be 300m in length.. look at the scale of the humans in the pic ?
Take average human height = 2m... that would make the bird 200m in length ?

Those pics you've provided are not definite proof... :03:

So Peru, the BBC, Greenpeace and the worldwide media are in a giant conspiracy then? :hmmm:

Seems legit...

I bet Obama and the FEMA dentists are behind it, they usually are. :yep:

Betonov 12-19-14 03:47 PM

The problem is not the if the sign photo is shopped,

the problem is THIS !!!!!!!!
http://i.imgur.com/EyMwJaQ.jpg

damage done to a cultural heritage site, whether it was a sunday picnic or an eco protest, un-a-ccept-able.
They fell on the same level as the corporations that would destroy the site for a ton of copper

If they'd defiled a golf course lawn I'd give them a standing ovation.

vanjast 12-19-14 03:52 PM

We'll see how the court cases go :)
Betonov.. they say there are 'squatters' roaming these sites lately, so that damage might not be greenpeace at all, if they were there.
