Beginning Modeler Needs Advice
Hey Guys,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post for this subject or not. I've recently started learning to model with Blender and currently have two projects going, a 747-400 and the Gokstad ship in Norway. I've searched the forums for answers to the following questions but have been unable to find anything that really helps. Has anyone ever modeled the Tirpitz? I got hold of blueprints for her and am (eventually) interested in making her. Perhaps some practice runs with something smaller and simpler, like some German destroyers, but I need to find plans of them. The-blueprints.com has a lot, but they look more like recognition pictures than actual plans. I don't see any sheer plans included, just structure above the water line. I'm also interested in the Prinz Eugen if anyone here hasn't done her yet. Anyone know a secret repository somewhere? I'm just not finding what I'm looking for on the net. Somewhere down the road I might be interested in doing the Graf Zeppelin Aircraft Carrier if a plan is available. Another thing I can't find info about on the forums is what you do with a computer model to rig her as an AI boat in order to be used in the game(speed up, slow down, fire guns, drop depth charges, etc.). Any advice addressing the above issues would be most greatly appreciated. |
Your best bet is to get S3D and export/import a few things.
You'll figure out scaleing and how to place different objects. As you play with S3D, you'll figure things out or at least have good questions that you can ask or search for the answers to. |

You didn't do Missions with S3D.
S3D is the tool you'll need to import/export 3D objects and more. The best 3D model you can do may not import if you don't learn how to use S3D. |

Ship Plans
So nobody can direct me towards some WWI German Destroyer plans? I pored over the blueprints.com but NONE of their drawings show anything below the waterline. I need drawings with a sheer plan.
