boat numbers
 

when I upgraded from a type IIa to a IId the number stayed the same. never realized before but is this common for SHIII gameplay? can I change the number manually?
I can't beieve I haven't noticed this before

In most of my time playing, the hull number changes when you obtain a different model submarine. Except this time. I started with a type IIa, U-4, and when I 'purchased' the type VIIc that would see me through most of the war, the number stayed as U-4. I went tooling around in the config files and career data, and that's when I noticed that one of the files had my boat labelled as U-110. So I just took to referring to it as U-110. When I obtained the XXI class, the game did assign a new number, U-2503. Bugged, yes, probably, but I'm not sure what kind. It had no other (obvious) effect on the game, it just bothered me personally, that's all.

Just found it through SH3 Commander. thought it was there but wasn't hitting the link square on I guess. regardless, problem solved.
