Torpedo Choice

I was wondering which of the torps were better to use.
I am using the g7a simply because of the speed and range versatility
I did try some others but with much less success and the homing one was kinda good but not as successful as i am with g7a

I personally prefer range and speed above all else. Homing torps lead to some interesting results but aren't always reliable; usually they'll chase after the wrong target and there was one instance where a fleeing target passed close to me and I almost got hit by my own torpedo.

Remember, torpedoes are "slow". A lot can happen between the time you launch a torpedo and when that torpedo reaches it's destination, preferably with a ship's hull at that very spot.

I have never had any problems with the homing torpedoes, the most fun you can ever have with an explosive that tracks it's targets. :D
Fire and Forget is always a blast.

When firing them, always shut your engines down, as they may lock onto that, and not the enemy.

Good note.

On that "note", I like the wakeless torpedo but it is, in my experience, and as stated by many others, slower. If I am up close, as I usually am, torpedo speed is typically not as much an issue as surprise. That changes, however, when I find myself having to fight escorts.

I carry both G7a and G7e, with auto torpedo loading disabled.

I have 2 x a in tubes 1 and 2 and 2 x e in tubes 3 and 4 plus an equal number of back ups.

I also have a and e for the stern tube

Although the G7e is slower and has less range in daylight at close range it can have an advantage over the G7a.

I always load up on A's, maybe throw in a couple of acoustics if available.

I like a mix.

Mostly As though with 2 Es in tubes 3 and 4.

Why you ask??

Failures, E are more prone to failures of the magentic detonators and the depth keeping devices if I recall. Most of my attacks are either at night or on merchants so the bubble trail isn't usually a problem. They don't spot it quick enough.

That and I only usually hit one ship at a time, or make it so 2 torps impact simualtaneously.
