For those relatively new to the community...Dan was a game designer for Ubisoft on the Silent Hunter series and is currently the Co-founder and game designer at KillHouse Games.

He has always been a great friend and supporter of the SubSim community as well as a personal friend to Neal, Steve, myself and quite a few others who have frequented these boards over the years.

The reference to the missed drink above relates to the time Neal dropped us both off at GW Bush Airport, Houston in 2008 where we agreed to have a farewell drink before boarding our respective flights (Dan was flying to Germany then on to Rumania and my flight was to Heathrow then on to Newcastle).

We checked in through different gates but Dans flight was called almost immediately so we never met up on the departures side.
