"Z" Ships

Can anybody tell me what the "Z" ships are please,
I found but not saw some on the North Western Approaches.

Not sure of your context or dates, but Force G, consisting of the modern battleship Prince of Wales, the First World War era battlecruiser Repulse, and the four destroyers HMS Electra, Express, Encounter and Jupiter, arrived at Singapore on 2 December 1941. They were then re-designated Force Z....

No these seem to be small craft? If as large as a cruiser I would have seen them as they were single craft and could not hold a lock

I am pretty sure the Z-ships are wrecks that don't move or do anything, I am thinking they are props or decorations for harbors.

Thanks but these move quite fast as I cant get a lock on them for long, they are also in deep ocean between Scotland and Iceland which is where I am patrolling now.
I haven't found anything for two days now so the crew getting bored with going to 30 mtrs and back to the surface every two hours.
I may have to use the whip a bit more

Are you sure they are not the regular version of that ship? As some Z-Ships share the same models as normal ships. Like there is a Z-ship for the generic .dat Armed Merchant Ship from Open Horizons. Quite a few open horizons ships have a Z-Ship version.

Thanks I will keep patrolling and searching, if I can get a screen shot I will post.

After all this time I have found an answer, they are Whales. While just chasing some down through the USO I saw what looked to be a whales tail occasionally braking the surface, so I think problem solved.:know:
