Need a Tonnage Bar Work Around
There seem to be a lot of us having problems with the tonnage bar not recording anything even though we are positioned correctly within the designated areas.
Although you can move missions with the stand alone ‘Active Campaign Selector for SH5 v0.06’ which is useful this does not help with the individual patrols within the missions. With sinkings not being recorded in the tonnage bar is it possible to edit/make file changes so that the patrol can be completed. You would then hopefully be able to move on to the next patrol in that mission? |
Did you try to disable RPM intertia in TDW generic patcher if you used it.
For me it fix the problem of bar not filling (I restart campaign between change). I play with Uplay fully online and sync save on. http://i.imgur.com/MY6eM5Dl.jpg my mod list : Quote:

No I do not use it and it shows as disabled.
My GFP settings are still the same as when I was not getting problems. I even tried changing the GFP168 back to 165 I do not think that it is a mod issue as I still get the same problem with stock + using the FX_Update 0.0.22 + patch to stop the circling torpedoes. |
What is RPM inertia for anyways?

The Kluge work around
This unsatisfactory workaround seems to work. I edit the safe game files and then use the "Active campaign selector for Silent Hunter 5" Mod to move onto the next major campaign step if I'm blocked. It keeps your history unlike silentotto http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1817
It is a bit of a pain but it works until a real fix appears. I may continue to use the mod even after a fix. It may release me a bit from the tyranny of only set missions in the campaigns of SH5 & OH. |
Pythos
The RPM patch in TDW patcher provides more realistic inertia setting to your subs propeller shafts. The result that you can't accelerate or decelerate as rapidly by the conservation of momentum in the spinning shafts. It may also work on the ships you hunt, but I haven't confirmed that.

The ‘Active campaign selector for Silent Hunter 5’ does not help with patrols only the missions.
You need to be able to ‘End Patrol’ so you are able to move on to the next patrol. The patrols appear by date and then disappear by date if not completed. It is not compulsory to request a patrol. If the tonnage bar does not work then you will not know what the objective is to complete the patrol. IF you have requested to patrol Easter British Coastal Waters, Breaking the Fortress appears a little later and needs to be tackled before EBCW due to the short time scale window even though it has not been requested. Sinking a BB or BC would fill the tonnage bar and complete that patrol allowing you to go back to EBCW. It is not the perfect answer but it may be a way to continue with the patrols within the mission depending on the patrol time scales. There is nothing to stop you refitting at any time. The biggest problem is that you will not know what each patrol objective is. I having said that I now realize as long as the black icon is showing then it will show you the objective. Just an idea that might be worth trying out as at least you will have the opportunity of having a go at all the patrols within a mission. |
It still seems to work
Active campaign selector for Silent Hunter 5’ does not seem to require you to finish a mission within the campaign successfully. So it won't depend on the tonnage bar errors just your own honesty. You can edit config files in the saved campaign folder to get to the next mission within a major campaign if needed. Then use the Active campaign selector for Silent Hunter 5 to move to thenextmajor campaign. :)

Interesting point you made.
The question is which folder to be precise and there are a lot of files. So what changes would be needed in the appropriate file to complete the patrol? It is good to know that there are options. They just need explaining in more detail. I am going to put up a new post shortly as I have had a tonnage bar success. New link http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=216408 |
Ok here is how you do it
If you have completed a mission within a campaign end it in port.and exit the game. In uplay make sure the only thing you have checked under the gear icon in settings is cloud save if you want it. Then close Uplay.
Go to your documents SH5 directory and open the data folder In the cfg folder go to saved games and find the most recent saved gam folder and open it. Open the campaign folder within and then Campaign.cfg in free opener Find the mission you were just in and mark it completed=true You can also make sub objective completed if you wish. Then find the next mission you are going to and make sure that you set unlocked=true Restart SH5 and the next mission should be available and the old missions marked complete. You'll find that your tonnage records are still the same. After your last mission in the campaign if you blocked for some reason just use Active campaign selector sh5 If the tonnage bar starts to work again then just ignore all this and go back to normal. So far it is working for me. for your convenience listed below are all the campaigns and the included missions OH Objective dates dd/mm/yy Coastal Waters 31/08/39 - 01/06/40 Flotilla 2nd Bases - Memel (31-08-1939 to 01-09-1939) Kiel (02-09-1939 to 31-09-1939) Wilhelmshaven (01-10-1939 to 31-06-1940) Stock boat issue - VIIA Baltic Operations 31/08/39 - 05/09/39 Eastern British Coastal Waters 04/09/39 - 01/12/39 Breaking The Fortress 10/09/39 - 15/10/39 North Western Approaches 21/09/39 - 01/04/40 South Western Approaches 01/01/40 - 01/06/40 Operation Wesserubung 20/03/40 - 11/04/40 Happy Times 15/06/40 - 01/03/41 Flotilla 2nd Bases - Wilhelmshaven (01-10-1939 to 31-06-1940) Lorient (01-07-1940 to 31-08-1944) Stock boat issue - VIIB Atlantic Air Gap 15/06/40 - 31/01/41 Western Approaches 01/10/40 - 01/02/41 Strategic Supplies 01/11/40 - 01/03/41 Mare Nostrum 15/03/41 - 01/12/41 Flotilla 23rd Transfer from 2nd flotilla Kiel 15-03-1941 with new boat.
