Target Acceleration Fix

Hello,

I have decided to try to return to SH4 after quite a long time. I am having trouble sorting out a mod issue.

I *think* I intend to run the following (unless encouraged to do something else):

RFB 2.0
RFB 2.0 Patch
RSRD RFB V575
RSRD V5XX Patch 1
Nav Map Makeover V2.1
Nav Map Makeover V2.1 Patch

As I recall, RFB does not fix the bug where targets accelerate insanely quickly. I am having trouble sorting through some options to fix this, since some mods appear to exist, yet some are old, some are incomplete, and I'm not sure of compatibility issues.

I thought I'd just ask: what is the most complete, most current, or generally best mod that may address that issue without messing with the rest of RFB.

I much appreciate your help!

The best choice for this issue in my opinion is ISP 2.0 by TorpX which can be found here. It is for RFB, but does affect other things such as weather and waves, dive times, turning radius, battery capacity, range and more.

Agree on ISP unfortunately torpx is still sorting out some bugs with 2.0. Specifically most merchant ships do not sink currently in ISP 2.0.

The temporary solution im going to try is running ISP 2.0 without the SEA folder to keep the awesome sub physics updates, while also installing an older mod called SAP v0.5 which should handle the insane acceleration and turning of enemy ships.

Hopefully this combo will work for now, I will try to report on it when i get a chance to play.

Ahh, good point. Maybe the old version is better for him for now.

"Old version", specifically;

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...do=file&id=942

One problem I found with it, it says for 1.4 and 1.5, but to use it in 1.4 without crashing you have to do a folder by folder comparison of the \Data\Sea\ subfolders and delete the ships that are in 1.5 but not 1.4. Example NCA_Deutschland is in the mod but not in SH4 version 1.4, so the .sim file throws a hissy fit over non existent files. If you have version 1.5 you don't have to worry about it, but the mod is NOT compatible as advertised with 1.4 out of the box, it requires some tweaking.

I've been moving house so turns out 2.1 came out just in time for me. I will try it!

I can't believe the level of effort some of you guys go to on this.

Thank you!
