Necessity is the Mother of Invention
Salute, All !!!
This may seem a little odd, but: I am sketching out the design of a telescope mounting. I needed some graph paper, a compass, protractor, ruler and a sharp pencil with eraser. Then it hit me. I have all of those tools aboard my U-Boat !!! So I started a new career, left the boat in port and scrolled out to the Bay of Biscay and made my sketches !! :D The lengths are not precise, but they are good enough to work out a cut list of the wood pieces !!! Good 'ol SH3, more than just a simulation !!! AD |
Well that's certainly different. And inventive.

Ok... Here it is. The scope is a 22" f4.6 which will be mounted on a Alt/Azimuth (Dobsonian) Rocker. The three views are showing the scope pointing straight up, horizontally, and 45 degrees. The inner circle is the altitude bearing (28"diameter) and the large circle is the "swing arc" of the tube. It indicates that the side walls of the rocker box will be 20 inches tall. Thanks for the SOLID EDGE info, millemaker !!! I will look into that. Salute, and Starry Skies !! AD http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...peMountsh3.jpg |
