Why?

Win 8 was a failure.

And the start menu is back.

Not a total failure if like me you got 8.1 where you get sort of a menu back.

I just defended Win8/Win8.1 :o

It's not only the start menu that was a problem, it was the entire goddamn "modern" UI and the lack of proper support for multitasking. Havign apps that only work in "modern" or only work on the desktop is just stupid, as is trying to make an operating system that can handle any and all platforms, it will end up beign a bloated mess.
All that said, win 10 does at least show some promiss.

I don't use the apps screen and not only that I have the little buggers all switched off. I do agree that MS was trying to show off and the result backed fired in their face, I've now got used to my Win8.1 and it dose the job for me but I do miss SH3 GWX that will not run full stop! Stock yes but GWX is a no no.

Any how what of this cloud business they said for Win10 which back then when Win9 was news, are we going to get stuffed with it or have they dropped it for now?

Followed the advice place the game outside the program files it just will not run GWX full stop. I do miss it but also don't give a toss pissing around trying to get it to work, I think two fracking hours is enough for me. Any how I don't play games any more.

Not overly impressed with the Win 10 Tech Preview.
I have it set up as a dual boot right now.

Install is iffy at best as it took 3 tries to get it installed and running.
First thing I'll do is see how hard it is to install SH3 and GWX.
Then I'll try other programs I use.

My copy installed without a hitch. Fast install compared to 7. *I knew better than to screw much with 8.*

Solid, VERY fast compared to 7. My laptop goes from full power off (not hibernated or in standby) to full boot and login in under 30 seconds.

I like where its headed.

What I want: the looks, ergonomy and design of Win7 - but the latest security technology under the hood. Preferrably without inbuilt Microsoft support for NSA.

The new looks are so awful.
