Ok, try again tomorrow, let me know. The system shows your account should allow normal downloads.

Hi Neal
I"m trying to download the Fletcher class destroyer but i can't download it. I think I've reached my limit of downloads. can i have it reset?

Downloads are off line until a few of the thousands of people with less than 1 posts helps out.

That makes me a little uneasy. I completely understand the need to raise funds for maintaining the website, but to shutdown the downloads (even temporarily) essentially makes all the downloads "Bonus Mods." Certainly with all the great mods hosted here they take up considerable server space, which understandably drives up costs. Also with so many Captains with no posts to show, perhaps this would be time to clean house? I'd just like to see the money that is raised stretch a little farther.

Anyways just my 2 cents.

The difference between Bonus Mods and all the other mods, is in a few days the regular mods will be available again. I guess if someone cannot afford $1 a month, they can afford to wait 4 days.

Yeah, I don't like to do this, but we have essentially 300 people paying 100% of the costs associated with the site, forums, server, tech fees... and 95,000 people enjoying it. Last year the fundraiser was successful, it raised more $$ than I needed, which will go in with this year's more modest returns to manage 2015.

PS: I cleaned out 10,000 accounts last weekend, accounts where the user had 0 posts, and had not been on the site in the last 4 years. I might roll out another purge soon, and drop the roll to ~75,000 users who have logged in at least once in the last 3 years.
