SH5 - standard or gold edition? WANT TO MOD ASAP
 

I have the steam version (which launches Uplay). After a couple hours of bouncing around this forum it is clear that I would need the TDW Generic Patcher to be able to do what I want to do and it doesn't work with the steam version... one more reason to add to the list of reason why steam is a POS!

So my question is, WITH MODDING IN MIND, should I purchase the standard or gold edition? (via Amazon) And apparently that version is Uplay. Will this be ok?

Also, can I just buy the downloadable version? I rather not wait for mail.

I am determined to pimp out SH5 and yell commands in my mic!

Do not see why the downloaded version will not work with what you have in mind. I got sh4 as the downloaded version from amazon and its mods just fine. Not sure about the uplay thing the bastard of a thing that it is. Should never have been made if you ask me.

From what I've heard the so-called "Gold" edition is nothing more than the standard edition with some extra ships you previously had to purchase. I believe the last patch adds those anyway, but I could easily be wrong on that. If the price is the same or very close, I'd say go for the Gold. :sunny:
