A new sticky needed.

Maybe it could be called 'The Obituaries'. Used of course to post everyone's favorite death notice. What say ye? For it or Against it? :hmm2:

I suggested this a little while back and the idea was nixed in favor of the current individual death notices to stand on their own merits and then scroll into oblivion like the folks they are written about, because an obituary topic wouldn't be frequented by many.

Just let these things fade away quietly. After all, who would want to go back and read about people who kicked the bucket 3 years ago?

Oberon 09-12-14 09:12 AM

Indeed, no real need for it tbh, if we're not going to have a stickied gun thread then I doubt we'll need a obituary thread. :03:

Two valid points, not that I'll be voting either way.

Stealhead 09-12-14 12:04 PM

I voted no. I think it is better to just have single threads in most cases they are off the first page in a few days anyway.

If you make a mega sticky it will always be there not to mention it would get confusing. What if two or three people pass in the same week?

RIP:salute:,RIP:salute:,RIP:salute:

Nuff said.

Armistead 09-12-14 05:10 PM

I voted yes, but just so all RIP articles were in one place I don't have to look at.

Stealhead 09-12-14 06:02 PM

Why not just read the thread title? Seems to me that is the most effective way to decide if you want to read a given thread.

Wolferz 09-12-14 06:47 PM

I only read the ones whose names are unfamiliar and I dismiss them just as quickly. There are too many people who pass away for me to RIP them all. Celebrities don't usually impress me while they're alive. They're just people after all and no different than anyone else in my book.

It's best if we save the sticky spaces for more important topics.

Eleven posts and fifteen votes thus far.

I agree and also voted yes.
