how to do a recon mission?
 

Sorry for this dumb question. I've started SH4 over, this time with just GFO mod.
My first mission was a recon of Hiroshima harbor.

I drove into the harbor, ran a few circles, was attacked.. survived..
but I have no idea how to take a picture. The icon remains not clickable. It says to take a picture of the locked in target. But I'm looking at the entire docks I can't lock anything.

Anyone give me a hint of how to do a photo recon in stock / GFO SH4?

Stock requires you to photograph ships in the harbor. I think 2-3 should get you a mission accomplished.
(the shots are saved in your SH4 folder in My documents, IIRC)

mm ok I guess that explains it. The weather is horrible and I haven't gotten a visual on a single ship. I have heard them pinging me however.

Visibility is almost nill.. I suppose I will risk it and try getting REAL close lol.

I've gotten close enough to the docks to rub off paint ,but didn't see any ships docked.

I'll have to go find that destroyer that's pinging me :)
