It is safe generaly speaking. We used to eat flowers as a drinking game
when I was stationed in Germany. It was not a popular game with German bar owners so we had to stop playing. Turns out that eating a food and beverage establishments flower arrangements is not a good
method to improve German-American relations.

I believe the Dutch have been eating flowers for centuries so nothing new here.
