Behavior of Torpedo bomber in V1.5
 
Hi,
I noticed this first in the RFB2/RSRD campaign and tried then a selfmade SP with G4M2 and Kates! Height set to 300m, speed 275km/h and for each plane a torpedo! No matter, as a random group or single flight, when I start the mission the planes spawn in a much higher height and drop finally the torpedos like bombs on the target!

Never saw such behavior in the old 1.4 version with RFB! But I do not know whether an extra mod was responsible for that!

I created a single mission once where I had american torpedo bombers coming into tokyo bay. They never seemed to have trouble dropping torpedoes. I had them set at 50-100 feet after they got over the bay. I also slowed them down since going to fast could have set the fish off.

Meanwhile, after some testing, i think they changed the AI for some planes in 1.5!
For torpedo attacks you need the "G4MBettyTorp" or "ASW_B6N2", they have the right behavior!
The older Kate and Bettys are only for bomb attacks, no matter if a torpedo is loaded or not!

I think I must rework my whole airstrike campaign file . . .

Merc4ulfate, which american aircraft and also which mods did you used for the mission?

You mean the game actually cares what speed the torpedoes have when they hit the water?
