Something has gone wrong

Well, I've finished my 7th patrol and so I'm happy.

However, something has gone wrong. I somehow exited from the mission logs and now I cannot award the promotions and skills that my crew deserves.

Is there a way to recover this or do I need to restore before entering the base and dock again? I hope not the latter as my last save was on the west coast of Ireland.

Or was I supposed to have docked at Lorient?

As far as I know, that only happens when you dock at a base which is not your own. You may also notice that you also cannot modify your submarine. If you sail back to your home base (where you started, or were transferred to), you should be able to give your crew the medals and etc. they earned.

You can always just sail 25km away from that port and "teleport" to your home base if you don't want to go the whole way back.

Ah, but you can! :)

I thought this for YEARS, too, and I was wrong.

You are correct - if you dock at a non-home port, you cannot click on the little blue booklet at the mission end and assign awards, promotions, etc.

But if you go back to the "office" screen, you can click on the filing cabinet in the upper-left-hand corner, and you can then assign awards, promotions, qualifications, and barracks just as always.

And for now, if you've lost your opportunity, use SH3 commander and you can assign any awards, ranks, or qualifications you want manually.

It worked perfectly. Thanks man, I owe you one.

I went for years not knowing this. I avoided docking at resupply ships because I didn't want to lose my awards.

It took me a long time to realise that myself.
