Best version of SH5?
 

Greetings everyone. Having played Silent Hunter 3 for hundreds of hours years ago (I picked it up the day it released) and later Silent Hunter 4, I am eager to get into Silent Hunter 5. However I have always been very arcady with the series and now I want to go hardcore.

However, I bought the Steam version over a year ago and due to its incompatibility with critically important mods/mod tools, I am done with it. So now I ask you all if I should just order a physical copy from Amazon or download the Gold Edition which is also from Amazon or Gamersgate? What advantage does the Gold Edition have?

It is on sale thanks to Steams competitive Summer sale forcing its competitors, such as Amazon and Gamersgate to keep pace. I have no problem waiting a week for the physical copy to show up. It is just that I would like to know what is the most popular version among Subsim gentlemen.

Get from Ubisoft or order on Amazon, also dick version is very cheap. Do not get steam version

Either way is fine. I like physical myself

I have to agree. I don't trust downloads myself, but that is most likely just me getting old. You're probably fine either way.
