[REL] Snarf's Phalanx Mod v1.0
Here is my first modeled from scratch mod. I present the Mk15 Phalanx CIWS (Block 1B without FLIR):rock:

Just tried it out....The japs are missing 2 Mavis and 2 Emily type search planes.:D..I have the extra ammo mod also...No longer panic diving to avoid planes,it just takes a BBBRRRRRRAPPPP or 2 and fish food..:har:

I'm glad you enjoy it. I just added it to my personal super Iowa mod. There are now Phalanx cannons at EVERY AA gun station, not just the two like the Mo' has currently. Let me tell you, seeing 40 CIWS's aiming simultaneously and then obliterating a plane instantly, then returning to their parked position :har::haha::rotfl2::o

Hey Snarf what does your Super Iowa mod change exactly?

changes 5" doubles to 8" triples, changes all AA guns to phalanx cannons (was 40mm quads before phalanx) increases torpedo loadout to 30 torpedoes and decreases loading time, speeds up traverse, elevation, and reloading on 16" guns. It's pretty rediculous and fun.

First: incredible AA firepower! :D
Second: When I install this mod with a stock SHIV 1.5 install (and using no other mods), I lose the deck gun(s). The Phalanx is still awesome, but they're the only gun on the ship, which is somewhat frustrating. Any insights would be welcome. Also, where can I find the super Iowa mod? Thanks! |

I'm running 1.5, so all my data files reflect that. If you're using JSGME to load it, you could just give it a try with the version for 1.5 stock. It only modifies 2 .upc files, the rest is add-on with this mod anyway. I can't guarantee that it will work with 1.4, but if it doesn't, the problem lay only with those 2 files. If it doesn't work I could walk you through how to fix it (a simple copy and paste with notepad).

I installed your mod over TMO 2.5 and OTC. It seems that the game files have been modified ok, but the weapon is conspicuous by its absence :( I installed it in port, partway through a career, just as I changed from an S-class to a Salmon - Would that make a difference?
Grateful for any pointers you could throw my way. Normally I'm a big believer in realism, but my own personal ethics have a clause that exempts rotary barrelled weapons :) *edit* Problem solved. It completely slipped my mind that I'd have to go to the weapons screen and install the thing as an upgrade. <facepalm> |

How do I increase the amount of 20mm ammo for these things??? My gunners go kinda crazy and use up the basic load in a very short time...:D
