Tom Clancy SSN campaign DW

Hi to all the Subsimmers around the world!

I give you my humble first attempt at creating a campaign for Dangerous Waters using RA-Alert v1.38. Based on the book by Mr. Tom Clancy it chronicles the adventures of SSN 773 during the war with China in and around the Spratly Islands. Nothing fancy, just some good old DW fun.

Thanks for taking the time. I've downloaded it but it's going to be a while before I can comment - Still learning the platforms and tactics, so right now I count it a win if I can get enough of a handle on the tactical situation to manage to identify the thing that kills me :)

Oh my God, I'll definitely have to check this out haha. I made a video series for the original SSN a while ago and have been thinking about a version for DW. I even considered making it but I'm definitely checking yours out.

It's an alright read. It doesn't fit into the Ryan-verse or anything and I'm pretty sure it's ghost-written. It's not really a contiguous, flowing book like Clancy's true stuff; it's more like a bunch of different scenarios slapped together. Then again, I haven't read it in yeaaarrss so I'm kind of basing that off reviews I read because I'm considering reading it again.

Time well spent I say. I'm still learning the ropes myself.

Enjoy! Like FPSchazly said, it is merely a collection of engagements strung together with a storyline to make it coherent. Worth a read in my opinion.

I saw that longplay. I think that was what inspired me to semi-visualize the book.

Anyway, there will be a bug here and there - apologies in advance.

just to let you know I'm enjoying scenario 1. I've managed to hit the Nimitz - several times in fact, but I haven't managed to either sink it, or survive the attempt. So - Thanks again for the work you put in :)

Yeah it's not really written like a Clancy book but it still has some of his style in it so I believe he wrote some of it. The Typhoon battle always seemed to me to be the most Clancy like part of the whole book.
