US plan to use the military against citizens
As I understand it Obama/Government want to use to military to support to civilian fire and emergency services, special events and the domestic use of the Army Corps of Engineers, as it is written in the article
Is the more to the story? Have read the whole article and I really don't understand the fear to do so. They do so in other countries if a huge catastrophe hits them. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...amas-policy-t/ Markus |
Have you seen this story elsewhere on the internet? I'm leery of the source you cite, as The Washington Times is at best, essentially a right-wing, cult-owned rag that has no love for Obama.

Well, it seems Slovenia invaded Serbia and Bosnia in May.
Or we just sent convoys of food and supplies to the flood stricken areas via the Army. |

Here's more I thought that washingtontimes was a newspaper that was seen as a part of the mainstream media. Markus |
Why, this not a conspiracy theory (?)
"The directive contains noncontroversial provisions on support to civilian fire and emergency services, special events and the domestic use of the Army Corps of Engineers." What is wrong about that, why shouldn't the military help in certain cases of civilian distress when the military has the gear to help, this is nothing new. And, b.t.w., is there any EVIDENCE that it is planned to be used against own citizens ? Also, probably it would be more worthwhile than guarding Afghanistan, or bombing Laos. :03: |
I always find it amusing how it stays the same no matter who is in the White House or which party is in power; under Bush, the knock was it was a plot by the "New World Order" of the wealthy Far Right; under Clinton, it was a plot by the "New World order" of the 'one-world' Far Left; under Daddy Bush and Reagan, it was a plot by the corporations and the military for the Far Right, and etc., etc., etc., ...
I would not be surprised if there was not some version of a tinfoil tri-corner hat wearer back in 1784 who was warning the newly created US Army was a plot by the Federalists or Whigs or whoever was around at the time... "Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose"... <O> |
