Sony KDL HX Television. How do you name the HDMI inputs?

Hi Guys

I have a Sony KDL40 HX803 TV that has a number of HDMI inputs.

Can anyone tell me how you name the HDMI inputs on these Sony Televisions.

I cannot find any information on how to do this.

Sony tell me it cannot be done

The installer named 3 of the inputs for me but is no longer trading.

Read The Fine Manual.

Thanks for your reply and help.

Your American manual is a proper printable pdf one that shows how to make the change I need to make on page 114 for the TV it represents.

The European I manual is descriptive only and has no instructions on how to make the change I need to make.

Unfortunately your manual instructions are not compatible with my TV

Regional separation of products is the pits. Probably due to the differences in transmission formats and power supply.
I'm sorry to say that there isn't much we can do to help you with your problem other than to suggest a trial and error exploration in your television's setup menu. Good luck.

Find a Sony tv forum somewhere and ask there?

THEBERBSTER 04-29-14 06:18 PM

I know it is in there somewhere I just cannot find it.

It does not help when Sony customer support is telling me that you cannot name the HDMI inputs when I have 3 with names that the installer put on.

Thanks for your reply Peter.

Hi Guys

I suddenly worked it out this morning lying in bed.

One of the inputs I thought was HDMI was a Scart.

I went to AV Preset's and all the external inputs were showing.

Easy when you know how.

Sony should be saying this in their I-Manual

Peter

I reckon that when people write these manuals they start off with a fully comprehensive manual then, over tea and biscuits, they decide which bits to remove to cause the most annoyance to the customer.:stare:

Precisely! Or a 'jammie dodger'! A bit like any Bible really! Lays down the law nicely initially...then we discover the Dead Sea scrolls, the testament of Judas etc; and a few other exculpatory works and wonder who the editor at 'Gutenberg Press' was! http://www.themorgan.org/collections...ges/sp_006.jpgI mean setting all that type setting is a chore! Ya gotta cut corners somewhere! Photo: only 48 copies of Gutenberg Bible known to exist. The first major book printed in the West!:O:And we ain't "sorted out" yet!:wah:
