Can anyone help me with some hires periscope (and obs) pictures.. please!
Thanks  Edt: I should have mentioned UBoat scopes.. |
No need to worry about this...
I got some lo-res pics off the web and made a simple first model with Wings3D This is a NYGM Hitman GUI extract, WIP of the Obs scope. Must still place all the items. Afraid not... In periscope modes, SH3 only updates a small square section of the screen... This is where the scopes are placed.
The background is just a screen-grab which I placed, to give more 'atmosphere' . @Hitman.. Thanks for the pic - Is it WW1 or WW2 vintage, as it looks very old. |
It is a Zeiss NLSR9 model, WW2. The same as installed on U-995's control room.

It's become a tradeoff, as usual, between what is real, and computer functionality
This is the attack scope (advanced stage - although it's easily 'changeable') working within SH3 'restrictions'. A few minor alignments and panel edge 'cleaning' and we'll be good to go - for testing !! http://www.ephotobay.com/thumb/screenie-17apr2014.jpg http://www.ephotobay.com/thumb/scree...pr2014.jpg</a> |
You may take a look on this site with historical pictures (in german):
Sehrohre Hitman will know, what type it is  Kind regards |
Thanks..
After a little work on this it seems impossible to mod it to even close to an original. I'll settle with the current 1920x1080 setup... after a bit of fiddling I'm settling down on this config.. http://www.ephotobay.com/thumb/screenie19apr2014.jpg |
The Obs Scope... just the Uzo and camera scaling to do... looking good so far. :D

These images are from PS (not in game) as my mod soup needs reorganising. Obs http://www.ephotobay.com/image/van-s...-11may2014.jpg Attack Busy working on a draggable TDC - So far the image instrument bank works in vanilla SH3 http://www.ephotobay.com/image/van-s...1may2014-1.jpg |
Here is the TDC in operation...
I've put those 'blanking plates' as switching between FAT/LUT and Normal torpedos seems hard coded, in that it blanks out the instruments in question. If you don't mind 'hazards' it's no problem as the idea is to present easy speedy access to the dials when you're in a hurry for a solution. :D Normal torpedo http://www.ephotobay.com/image/tdc-normal.jpg FAT torpedo http://www.ephotobay.com/image/tdc-fat.jpg |

But still, if you need to have that empty space I would suggest that you make it the same as the TDC metal, maybe with a label or a screw, so that when you don't have those dials you still see a full metal case and not empty spaces filled with whatever. |

I'm sure our friends in the SH5 forum will happily provide some screen captures on purpose :know: |
