Check the date/time clock of your computer. Did the date change somehow? I do not know if the BIOS, or newer computers have something different than BIOS, could override the operating system time clock. Just an idea. |

It looks like you invented time travel! :D |
I've seen something similar happen with radio messages on one career. The dates of the incoming messages were always a few days in advance of the actual date.

Its a common problem which is rectified by loading the in base save on April 3rd. This deletes the corrupt save. The problem occurs after a failed or ctd during loading of that particular save file where the date/time is changed. I have continued careers even with this problem by patiently retrying loading until it works. I give it 4 goes after a restart of the computer if it doesnt work then it never will and load up the earlier (in the list) save. In base saves are the most stable anyway. Even if you have just sank HMS Nelson u have to bite the bullet and carry on as if it didnt happen.

Actually, I have had a similar experience and it may be due to a combination of issues including using the same name more than once for saved games. There is a similar discussion here.

Well the bios is fine.
I did attempted to reload multiple times no go. Yes i did sunk HMS Anson 45 ooo GRT The real date should have been 23 march. |
From the picture it appears that the same save name was used twice, thus corrupting the last save.

Thankfully, I was only on my second patrol at the time, so I just loaded up the save prior to the messed up one, which removed the mistake from my universe, and went on my merry way like nothing happened. |
In Europe daylight-savingstime did come into effect during the night of Saturday (29th) to Sunday (30th) in Europe (at 2:00 in the morning it became 3:00). But that should have been well before these last saves. Not sure how that could influence the game, but just for your information.

Thank you all for your help.
I decided to start that patrol again. I only hope to run over HMS Anson Again :( |

:haha:
I meant I met and then proceed to sink HMS Anson With 4 fish ( overkill apparently Probably two would have been enough ) |
It is possible to "run over" another vessel - though probably not a battleship! I recall attacking an unarmed small merchant when returning to base with only one torpedo left - my torpedo stopped it and after two days (in game time) it was well down in the water but had not sunk - I had been waiting for the weather to break so that I could finish it with my deck gun but in the end I got bored with waiting so I decided to ram it - my first attempt at one third ahead failed to gain a result except cause damage to my forward torpedo room. I deployed the damage control party to fix that and then tried again at standard speed this time no damage to my sub but also no effect. Finally I tried again at Full Speed aiming for the after part of the Merchant that was already low in the water - my boat rode up over the target and came to a stop straddling the target's aft deck which had been pushed lower in the water - after a few minutes, the message 'She's going down' came up on the screen and my sub floated free! I wish I had had the presence of mind to take a screen shot of my boat sitting high and dry balancing on the deck of the merchant!
