SH3 and GWX3 help

Hi Friends Again,

I'm a total newbie modding.....I have read 2 days of threads, watched th3eaglenest youtube, found jimbuna, etc. When I download gwx3 I keep getting the same error someone else did......missing disk 7. Can I make the $5 donation here, not using pay pal but WITH a credit card and get a full-download without going to grey-tourents-gamepro?...etc.....p.s....I got my sh3 from steam and have a clean, newly downloaded copy. I think if I can get all the 1-8 gwx3 files downloaded correctly, I can then rewatch eagle's video and proceed with installation.......thanks for any help........p.s......I have learned a lot reading all posts and watching the videos. I'm close to giving up since I have 15 hrs into this and may just play sh3 straight like I did for the past 8 years. Subsim is super.....I'm just bad with software, etc.......thanks

If you have not viewed Desertstriker's tutorials on modding the Steam version of SH3, you will probably have problems. The version Steam sells is NOT the same as the version you can buy from regular vendors. It contains Steam's unique DRM added to tie you into Steam's closed environment. IIRC, you can still mod the Steam game successfully, but it requires special procedures. Check out Desertstriker's tutorial to learn how to add GWX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Whr0TDum4cM.

Alternatively, go to Amazon.com. Pay $10 for the SH3 v1.4b download. No special DRM, no Starforce. Install SH3, install GWX, and in 15 minutes you will be up and running SH3-GWX. And you will have no similar problems no matter what mods you want to add later.

We're working on that right now. It may take another week or two. :sunny:
