Corvettes are sinking out of sight!
Sad thing to see, as these Vettes are classics, some on loan from GM themselves. A giant sink hole has opened up underneath the Corvette Museum in Kentucky and they have lost several already! Sad thing to see happen to these classics, but glad no one was hurt.

That can happen if you build over a cave.:yep:
|
That's pretty impressive! A real bummer, but impressive nonetheless.

Looks like the bottom has fallen out of the market :O:
Seriously though, will they all be replaceable? |
I've got a sinking feeling that someone didn't do their survey properly when getting the foundations put in.

They "died" close to home Corvettes are made in Bowling Green,KY.

Wolferz, you beat me to the cave remark. :haha:
Tarjak, the survey was probably done correctly at the time. Southwest Kentucky is so riddled with caves, you can't build anything without danger of hitting one. The building was possibly planned with the idea of a cave underneath. My guess is the original sinkhole was filled, then opened up again. |
Yeah my father's side of the family is from Western Kentucky Murry. When he was a kind they built the Corvette factory in Bowling Green. He said that many joked wondering when the whole factory would get sucked up by a sink hole.
The geography is perfect for them if you think about it in West and South West Kentucky. |

My dad's family was from extreme western Kentucky, near Paducah, Small world, huh?:D Wife 1.0 was from Bowling Green. Knowing what I know about the folks in those parts, I'll never buy a Corvette.:haha: Sink hole? It looked more like a cave in.:O: |
