Pete Seeger, dead at 94.............
One of my favorite singers when I was a teenager, is dead at the age of 94. May he R.I.P.
Thanks for all the great music and insights into the world around us Pete, you will be missed! http://www.nbcnews.com/entertainment...-94-2D12008162 |
Lots of good musical memories Pete
RIP Sir |
I used to have a copy of Woody Guthrie's autobiography, Bound For Glory. Woody's good friend Pete Seeger wrote the introduction, which was as much fun as the book itself. I still remember others' covers of his more famous songs, Peter, Paul & Mary singing 'Where Have All the Flowers Gone?' and Trini Lopez's big hit with 'If I Had a Hammer'.
He had a good long run, and won't be forgotten anytime soon. |
RIP Pete, i listened to you so often back then.
He also sang the german "Die Gedanken sind frei". I am sure he was also on the CIA's black list because of his 'leftist' songs. |

@Catfish the FBI is responsible for internal intelligence so Pete Seeger was on Hoover's blacklist for his leftist songs. |
Nah they declare anyone who speaks the truth an enemy of the state, because mostly the truth is about uncovering lies.
Funny that just of all in a land where freedom ach blah i'm tired, better live on with your lies. |
When I was in elementary school they taught us to sing Woody Guthrie's 'This Land is Your Land'...sort of. They seemed to have forgotten the verses about labor unions, Communism and protesting. :dead:

RIP
